Treatments

We offer a wide variety of cosmetic and non-cosmetic treatments to our patients.

Featured Treatments

Fillings

Fillings restore areas of mild to moderate decay. They can also be used to replace
missing areas of a tooth that have fractured. We typically use composite bonding
(tooth-coloured material) when placing fillings although amalgam fillings (silver) still have their
indications.

Crowns

A crown is a custom-made “cap” that cements over your tooth in order to provide strength and stability to a heavily-filled or broken tooth. Crowns can be made of either ceramic (tooth-coloured material) or gold. You can expect two appointments when having a crown made– one for the preparation of the tooth and another for the final cementation.

Bridges

A bridge is a custom-made fixed prosthetic that replaces a missing tooth. When a bridge is made, teeth are prepared as though they are for crowns but an artificial “tooth” is added to bridge the gap. Bridges are typically made out of zirconia (very strong ceramic) although they can still be made from gold. You can expect two appointments when having a bridge made– one for the preparation of the tooth and another for the final cementation.

Implant-supported crowns and bridges

Implants can be used to replace both single and multiple missing spaces. Implants are placed by our trusted specialist colleagues and restored by us. You can expect three appointments when having an implant-supported restoration made– one for the impression to make a custom tray, another to take an impression of the implant(s), and a final appointment to insert the custom-made prosthetic.

Hygiene (Scaling and Root Planing)

A mainstay of preventative dentistry, visits with our skilled hygienists involve the removal of calculus (tartar) with highly-specialized instruments to support the health of the periodontium (gums and supporting bone). Reversing gingivitis and arresting periodontal disease is a major way in which we help take care of your dental health and prevent the need for future treatments.

Nightguards and Sportsguards

A nightguard is a custom-made removable appliance that helps to prevent costly damage to teeth and dental work in patients who grind at night. In many instances, nightguards can alleviate pain associated with bruxism (grinding). A sportguard is a
custom-made appliance that protects your teeth while engaging in contact sports, mitigating the risk of serious dental trauma

Root Canal Therapy

A toothache can occur when the nerve inside a tooth is diseased or dead. Root canal therapy involves the removal of this tissue inside of the tooth. Teeth with deep decay, large fillings, cracks, fractures, or abscesses commonly require root canal therapy to remove the inflamed or infected tissue inside of the tooth in order to be maintained.

Extractions

There are times when a tooth is too fractured, too decayed, or too infected to be saved. There are times when the cost associated with trying to maintain a tooth won’t make sense for you. There are times where teeth may need to be removed in order to “make space” for orthodontic treatment.

Whitening

Custom-made whitening trays with professional-grade oxidizing gels are a great choice for patients who wish to brighten their smile and help reverse staining.

Botox

Botulinum toxin type-A can be used to smooth out and prevent wrinkles around the eyes and forehead. It can also decrease the strength of chewing muscle activity and alleviate tension-type headaches. Results can last between 3 and 6 months.

Please note that Botox administration is reserved only for patients of record as part of a
comprehensive dental treatment plan and only considered after a careful review of medical
history and appropriate consultation.
